We celebrated the Mid-Autumn with a short drama by the teachers and the children together. It was fun, and children could easily understand it as we changed the story a little and made it simple.
Long, long ago, there were 10 suns in the sky. The Sun burnt all the plants on Earth. One day, Hou Yi used his bow and arrows to shoot down nine of them. When he wanted to shoot the last Sun, all the people stopped him. "It will be very dark if you shoot down the last Sun."
So Hou Yi decided to stop and let the Sun helps the plants to grow and keep the people warm. Everyone is so happy.
The King gave Hou Yi a bottle of elixir that could make him immortal. Although Hou Yi did want to become immortal, he wanted to stay with Chang'e more. Therefore, he didn't drink the elixir and asked Chang'e to keep it safe for him.
One night, Hou Yi and Chang'e are sleeping. Pang Meng quietly went to their house and tried to steal the elixir. The "family members" noticed it and quickly woke Chang'e up. Chang'e knew she couldn't defeat Pang Meng, so she drank the potion immediately.
The elixir made her fly higher and higher. In the end, she stopped on the moon. She became immortal.
The children enjoyed participating in the drama and had lots of fun together.
The Children ate the mooncakes and pomelo after the celebration.
