We had our Chinese New Year Celebration on the 6th days of the Chinese New Year. Wishing everything will go smoothly this year.
Children gathered at the different corner in the open space area for social distancing.
First, we introduced and talked about how we go visiting during Chinese New Year and what we should bring along. Although all children know we have to bring 2 Mandarin oranges but some children felt is alright to bring 2 bananas or 2 pineapples. I think is a good idea too.
This year, we have invited a special "Lion Dance" (Ms. Tina) to our school as this year, the "Lion Dance" troupe are not allowed. The "Lion dance" was great! She even performed the traditional custom of "Cai Qing" (採青), whereby the lion plucks the auspicious green lettuce hanging on a pole and scatter the "orange skins" at the children to wish them with great luck and good health.
